1. Policy Cancellation Refunds
Voluntary Cancellation by
Policyholder:
- If you cancel your policy within the first 30 days (free look period), you are entitled to a full refund
of premiums paid, minus any claims filed
- After the free look period, refunds are calculated on a pro-rata basis for the unused portion of your
policy term
- Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email, mail, or through your online account
- Refunds are processed within 15-30 business days of receiving your cancellation request
Cancellation by SecureLife
Insurance:
- If we cancel your policy for reasons other than non-payment or fraud, you will receive a full pro-rata
refund
- If your policy is cancelled due to non-payment, no refund will be issued
- If your policy is cancelled due to fraud or material misrepresentation, no refund will be issued
2. Premium Refunds by Coverage Type
Home Insurance:
- 30-day free look period with full refund
- Pro-rata refund after 30 days, minus any claims paid
- No refund if property has been sold and coverage transferred
Vehicle Insurance:
- Pro-rata refund for unused coverage period
- Refund reduced by any claims filed during the policy term
- Short-rate cancellation fee may apply (typically 10% of unearned premium)
Business Solutions:
- 60-day free look period for new business policies
- Pro-rata refund after free look period
- Annual policies may have minimum earned premium requirements
Tenant Insurance:
- Full refund within 30 days if no claims filed
- Pro-rata refund after 30 days
- Minimum earned premium of $25 may apply
Property Assets:
- Pro-rata refund for unused coverage period
- Refund subject to minimum earned premium requirements
- Multi-property policies calculated individually per property
Global Travel:
- Full refund if cancelled before trip departure date
- No refund once travel has commenced
- Annual travel policies: pro-rata refund if no claims filed
3. Non-Refundable Fees
The following fees are non-refundable:
- Policy issuance fees
- Administrative processing fees
- Inspection fees
- Late payment fees
- Returned payment fees
- Reinstatement fees
4. Refund Processing
Processing Time:
- Refunds are typically processed within 15-30 business days
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method
- If original payment method is unavailable, a check will be mailed to your address on file
- Allow 5-10 business days for refunds to appear in your account after processing
Required Documentation:
- Written cancellation request with policy number
- Reason for cancellation (optional but helpful)
- Proof of alternative coverage (if applicable)
- Signed cancellation form (provided by us)
5. Special Circumstances
Death of Policyholder:
In the event of the policyholder's death, beneficiaries or estate representatives may request a pro-rata
refund for unused coverage. A copy of the death certificate and proof of authority must be provided.
Total Loss of Insured Property:
If the insured property is completely destroyed or deemed a total loss, the policy will be cancelled, and
any unused premium after the loss date will be refunded.
Military Deployment:
Active military personnel deployed overseas may be eligible for special cancellation terms and full refunds.
Military orders must be provided.
6. Disputed Charges
If you believe you have been charged incorrectly, please contact our billing department immediately at billing@insurancecoveragebenefitshub.online or +1 866 482 5945. We will investigate all
disputed charges and resolve
them within 30 days.
7. Automatic Renewals
If your policy automatically renews and you wish to cancel, you must do so within 30 days of the renewal
date to receive a full refund of the renewal premium. After 30 days, standard pro-rata refund terms apply.
8. Exceptions and Limitations
- Refunds are subject to state insurance regulations, which may vary
- Some states require minimum earned premiums that may reduce refund amounts
- Policies with outstanding claims may have refunds delayed until claims are resolved
- Bundled policies may have different refund calculations for each coverage type
